This little cover is my own way of paying homage to one of the artists that impacted me the most, one that has been in my life for as long as I can remember. I struggled recording this, and I kept this take solely because it was the only one where I manage to sing the song in its entirety without crying (too much, at least). But I like it nonetheless, despite its flaws.
It still doesn’t feel real to me, it hasn’t hit me full force yet, every time I start to grasp the harsh reality of his passing away my brain shuts off and stops processing anything. As if to protect me from the inevitable breakdown that awaits me patiently.
Dear Chester, I hope wherever you are now, you found peace there. Thank you for everything you’ve given us, thank you for all these memories. I love you. Forever.
